Summary

The Texas Supreme Court reversed the lower courts, holding that the final call in the Hodge‑Miller deed must be run as a straight line, not as a meander line following Big Bear Creek, and therefore the plaintiffs failed to prove title to the six acres. The Court also reaffirmed the rule that a plaintiff in a trespass to try title suit must establish his own title. Justice Calvert, in a concurring opinion, criticized the majority's adoption of the Lovingston rule.
